About

Some interests get out of hand. Mine got a podcast.

Curiosity Class is my weekly excuse to turn a rabbit hole into a conversation. Money, mindfulness, AI, real estate, whatever book has temporarily become my entire personality. If I can't stop thinking about it, it's fair game.

I bring on people who know way more than I do and ask the questions everyone else is politely nodding through. Acronyms get spelled out. Jargon gets a follow-up question. As Einstein probably never said, “If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.” Questionable attribution. Excellent point.

The Premise

“Huh, I never thought about that.”

I say this a lot for someone technically conducting the interview. It's also the whole point: follow a good question far enough to end up somewhere you didn't expect.

New episode every Friday.

Behind the Microphone

Hi, I'm Jeff.

Engineer by day, real estate investor on the side, and a big believer that buying books and finding time to read them are two separate hobbies.

I started Curiosity Class because I kept wanting to ask one more question. A podcast turned out to be a pretty good excuse to have long conversations with brilliant people, and to share them with everyone else. My favorite people to talk to are the ones who light up when you ask what they're into. Somewhere along the way, they'll say, “Sorry, I could talk about this for hours.” No apology necessary. That's why I brought microphones.

I live in Austin with my wife, Robyn, our son, and our golden retriever, Fuji. When I'm not recording, I'm usually cooking, lifting, or planning a trip. There's also a good chance I'm telling Robyn something she didn't ask to hear from a book she didn't ask to read.
